Submissions to the Council of Europe

This page looks at what others propose to do to challenge
the repressive nature of the United Kingdom Government towards Cornish Rights

United we Stand!   Divided we Fall!

To pursue the Campaign for Cornish recognition as a national minority for the purposes of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, Tyr-Gwyr-Gweryn has submitted to the Human Rights Directorate of the Council of Europe, under a covering and explanatory letter, all submissions previously submitted to the Racial Equality Unit of the United Kingdom's Home Office.

Whilst convinced that many individuals and organisations have taken an initiative to lobby the Council of Europe on the matter of the United Kingdom Government's failure to respect Cornish Rights and recognition of our status as an indigenous national group of this island, it is unlikely that such representations will become publicly transparent unless collated by a third party with a vested interest such as Tyr-Gwyr-Gweryn.   Please use link buttons below to see some related reports and correspondence received.

One such representation has been received from Dr. Nigel Hicks.

Having also acquired a copy of the Cornish Stannary Parliament's submission to the Council of Europe's Directorate of Human Rights, I was deliberating which was the best aspects of it to publish to this site.   My dilemma has now been resolved by the receipt of a Supplement to their submission which neatly wraps up the context of the Stannary Case and also brings into the frame matters of more recent concern.  The address of the Stannary Information Office is also included should you wish to acquire a copy of their full submission.
